• How do I size a turbo® Precleaner?

    a. Use easy formula involving engine rpm’s and displacement to
determine airflow. Then it’s simply selecting the right model depending
on your application and inlet size.

    b. Or Use our sizing calculator.

  • How is turbo® different from other precleaners or dust bowls?

    a. The aerodynamic spinning vanes in turbo® Precleaners produce
separation efficiencies up to 85%, and require no emptying or
maintenance, whereas dustbowls are less than 65% efficient and require
    periodic emptying.

    b. turbo® Precleaners tough, powder coated steel won’t get brittle or
yellow in the sun. Resists damage from impact as well. Same with our
engineered, glass-reinforced nylon (on selected models)

    c. turbo® Precleaners utilize straight-thru flow path whereas most
generic precleaners have the incoming air completely reverse direction,
adding additional restriction – which robs your engine of power.

    d. turbo® II Precleaners spinners are warranted for life

    e. PowerRamTM is directional

    f. Flex-n-lineTM can be used under hood

  • What are advantages/disadvantages of polymer versus steel?

    a. Steel is mostly heavy-duty, withstands impact, vibration and
    weather

    b. Steel is e-coated and powder coated for corrosion protection

    c. Polymer is corrosion resistant (never rusts)

    d. Both have excellent UV properties

    e. Both have similar temperature characteristics

    f.  Polymer is lighter weight (where this is a consideration)

    g. Polymer is often less expensive

  • What is biggest/smallest size turbo® Precleaner?

    a. turbo®Precleaners accommodate a wide size range, from flow rates
of 50 to 1300 CFM and inlet sizes of 3 to 8″  We also carry a wide range
    of adaptors and transitions

  • How easy it to install a turbo® Precleaner?

    a. The short answer is, It Depends on your machine. If you already
have an intake pipe with a rain cap or bowl type separator, then you
simply remove the old one and slide the turbo Precleaner in place and
tighten the band clamp. If you do not have an exposed air intake pipe,
you may have to develop a solution by attaching a pipe to the existing
air cleaner housing and routing it up and out of the machine housing to
a good location. We have examples of some “typical” installation white
    papers located here. (INSERT LINK)

  • How efficient are turbo® Precleaners?

    a. When tested according to J726 (ISO5011), turbo® precleaners reach
    separation efficiencies above 85%

  • What’s the benefit of pre-separation?

    a. Any time you remove dust or debris prior to its reaching the
primary air filter, this is very beneficial as it greatly extends the
life of the air filter element.  Depending on the application, this
factor can extend the life (service interval time) of the primary filter
element by 4-5 times! As we often say, the key to any filtration is
    Pre-separation!

  • What’s the turbo® Precleaner warranty?

    a. turbo® II is warranted for 2 years. The internal spinner assembly is warranted for life.
    b. turbo® III is warranted for 2 years.

  • How do I purchase a turbo® Precleaner?

    a. For end users, we have a great network of distributors and dealers
    located in
just about every part of the country. You can access our dealer network
here(LINK). For select OEM and potential dealers, we can discuss you
buying direct from us, but there are certain volume criteria that must
be met in order to buy direct. We really suggest looking at out dealer
    and distributor network.

  • Will a turbo® Precleaner help my machine?

    a. Most definitely. Most construction equipment can benefit from a
precleaner, and if you’re machine is an important investment, why not
specify and install the best?  A turbo® Precleaner.

  • What does a turbo® Precleaner do?

    a. Using a patented combination of fixed vanes and rotating impeller,
in a unique housing design, the turbo Precleaner replaces the
traditional dust bowl or rain cap and adds the additional function of a
    self-powered rotary ejective pre-separation device.  It’s specially
designed paddles rotate internally at very high RPM’s, separating dust,
dirt and debris from the airstream before it can be introduced to the
engine, saving money by extending filter service intervals.
